This week I've been adding some more essential things to my kitchen including an enamel frying pan that is oven safe.

The plan for food this week:

Monday Pasta, mushrooms, tomato and herbs.

Tuesday Shepherds pie

Wednesday Spaghetti with some beef mince

Thursday Pizza and home made fries

Friday Portobello Mushroom Burger

How to save money in the supermarket?

Get the books out and decide what to eat each day of the week. Take a list and stick to it. Don't deviate from the list at all. Buy loose veg as its cheaper. Try and buy vegetables in season e.g. potato etc.

My weekly spend on food this week is as follows:

Tesco Dettol Cleaner - €2.99 Cif Cream - €2.10 Batchelos Beans - €0.62 Onion 3 Pack - €1.19 Fresh Milk - €0.87 Parsnip - €0.62 Innocent Smoothies - €4.35

Marks & Spencer Organic Crop pots - €2.99 Organic peppers - €2.79 Portobello Mushroom - €2.49 Lemon - €0.49 Carrots - €1.09 Limes - €0.30 Organic Garlic - €1.35 Plain Bagels - €1.35 8 Hot Cross Buns - €1.49 Butter - €1.55 6 x Eggs - €1.69 Lean Mince- €3.99 Valentines Card - €4.25 Organic Chicken Fillet - €7.04

Total: 33.20 + 12.74 = €45.94

This is still well bellow my budget of €100 a week on Food. I can see this increasing in the next couple of the weeks though as basics start to decrease.
